Is weed legal here now?

It sure is! This is thanks to the recent passing of the historic Question 4, which garnered 54% support at 1.7 million votes. This law came into effect in December of 2016, effectively ending the 100-year marijuana prohibition in the state. It wasn’t until two years later in November of 2018 that commercial sales actually began. In its first year alone, the commercial cannabis industry of Massachusetts saw more than 30 licensed dispensaries open, generating $420 million in revenue, itself landing the state $71 million in tax revenue. This is money that can be used to implement social programs as well as update the state’s aging infrastructure.

However cannabis still remains illegal at the federal level, which can create a lot of confusion. Despite this, there are currently no laws that prevent the sale or shipment of pot seeds in the US, even if they’re being shipped into an illegal state.
