So is weed legal yet?

Unfortunately not, but things seem to be shifting in that direction. The state does have a medical marijuana program, which, at almost 20,000 active patients, seems to be doing at least somewhat well for itself. In addition, over the last few years, the state legislature has made a point to expand upon this program and make it more accessible after its initial debut was very restricted.

House majority leader Ryan Winkler (D) had even been planning to introduce a legalization bill that would seek to enact recreational marijuana laws which he hoped would see a vote later this year, but unfortunately, the current COVID-19 outbreak has derailed this effort as legislators are scrambling to deal with this unprecedented viral outbreak. Reportedly this legislation effort hopes to reemerge next year, which is disappointing, but not exactly surprising given the current state of things.

What’s the difference between medical marijuana and CBD oil?

CBD oil is concentrated cannabidiol that has been extracted from the cannabis plant and suspended in an oil solution, typically MCT oil. There is absolutely nothing wrong with CBD oil, especially if it works for you, however in certain areas of the country, medical marijuana patients are only allowed access to CBD oil, which is unfortunate because it’s not necessarily a one-size-fits-all situation when it comes to personal health.
