So is weed legal?

It most certainly is! For you, at least. Back in November 2018, Michigan put to a vote the momentous Prop 1, which proposed a taxed and regulated legal marijuana industry. Despite the 44% of naysayers, the measure passed with over 2.3 million votes at a margin of 56%. Thus, Michigan became the 10th state to do so, following trailblazing states like Washington and Oregon. It took just over a year, but the first legal sale of marijuana happened on December 1 of 2019, and apparently the first week alone saw $1.6 million in sales. However, the federal government has not been as keen to adopt such modern policies, choosing instead to uphold archaic federal regulations. One such regulation makes it illegal for states to ship their cultivated marijuana crops across state lines, even into other legal states.
