So is weed legal yet?
Unfortunately, marijuana is not yet legal in Ohio, though there have been some developments that seem to suggest a legitimate legalization movement could be a reality within the near future. One of these developments is Ohio’s establishment of a statewide medical marijuana program, which is an important precedent to set before legalization can be realistically considered. Despite gaining approval from Ohio voters back in 2016, delays have resulted in the program not being implemented until 2019 with the opening of the first licensed medical dispensary. However, there are now almost 60 dispensaries in Ohio, so the program does appear to be doing well. In addition, there has been a very loud and somewhat successful campaign for the decriminalization of recreational marijuana infractions, which currently hold a ‘reduced’ criminal status. Recently the Cincinnati City Council became the first legislative body in the state to pass a total decriminalization bill, which hopefully will lead to more victories like this around the state.
What’s the difference between recreational and medical marijuana?
Both recreational marijuana and medical marijuana are quite similar by nature, but thanks to decades of intelligent agricultural engineering, they now differ in some key areas that make a world of difference.
Recreational marijuana has been cultivated to be rich in the cannabinoid known as tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). This compound, when ingested in large amounts, creates a psychoactive stimulation that is very appealing to most users. This is also colloquially referred to as the ‘high’ effect.
Medical marijuana also contains THC, though generally in much smaller, almost negligible quantities. Instead, medical marijuana relies on the effects of cannabidiol (CBD), which is primarily responsible for the healing and medicinal benefits from which medical marijuana gets its name.
Above are some of our more popular medical marijuana strains, and more like these can be found in our store. Yes, it really is a wonderful time to buy marijuana seeds in Green.
