Is this stuff legal for me?

Yes it is! If you’re in Oregon, that is, then you’re in luck. Back in 2014 the state joined the ranks of such trailblazing states like Washington and Colorado when it passed Measure 91. Since then, eight other states have followed suit, including most recently Illinois. That brings the total to 11 states, or exactly 22% of the Union.

As you’re probably well-aware, the federal government is not as keen to adopt similarly modern marijuana policies. Instead, it chooses to uphold archaic federal regulations, one in particular making it illegal for states to export their marijuana crops anywhere else, even into other legal states. For a state like Oregon, which is apparently very adept at cultivating marijuana, this has created an immense surplus. The state cannot sell marijauna fast enough, and can’t send it elsewhere. The surplus is reportedly so extreme that, if there were no more cultivation to occur, it would take six years to sell it all away. Thus, retail prices of marijuana have dropped dramatically, and one can’t entirely be sure of whether they can obtain fresh, quality marijuana.
