Growing Tips for Grape Kush
Grape Kush is a solid starter strain for novice or first-time growers. Grape Kush marijuana plants will thrive indoors and outdoors, but have an easier time growing indoors because of the ability to completely control the climate. If you choose to grow indoors, you will have to replicate a steady environment similar to the climate of the Mediterranean. Grape Kush cannabis seeds grow into deep, dark purple plants that are reminiscent of the color of red wine.
If you choose to grow outdoors, you will need to hope for consistent temperature and humidity to grow these plants to completion. Doing so will ensure that you grow healthy buds from the top of the plants to the buds closest to the soil. Having access to a greenhouse is the best way to give these plants the perfect outdoor climate without having to put up with unexpected outdoor variables. These plants grow tall and can reach around 5-7 feet. Because the plants reach a maximum indoor and outdoor height of around 7 feet, these plants will need ample vertical and lateral space to reach their peak.
The ideal temperature for these plants is around 70-80 degrees Fahrenheit and slightly cooler at night. Humidity levels should be kept around 30-60% during the vegetative growth stage and the flowering stage, but lowering the humidity every week will help this plant grow. Growing indoors will ensure that the moderate humidity levels and moderate temperatures are consistent and maintained every day that the plants are in the growing stages.
Topping, Screen of Green (ScrOG), and Low-stress training (LST) methods are the best training techniques for this particular strain of cannabis. If performed correctly and at the right time, these techniques will promote bud production and increase final yields. LST helps manipulate the plants by tying down the branches to increase the size and density of the buds while allowing them to grow almost naturally. Screen of Green will reinforce the branches so the heavier buds don’t bend or break the plants. Topping will help keep the plants manageable by trimming the tops so the canopies don’t overgrow. The Grape Kush strain requires an 18-20 hour light cycle to reach the vegetative growth stage. Changing the light cycle to a 12/12 cycle will induce the flowering stage of growth and get your plants to harvest.
Yields, Flowering Time, and Harvest
- Flowering Time: Growing indoors, you can expect the Grape Kush strain to harvest after a short flowering period of 55-65 days.
- Yields: While Indoor yields are around 400 grams per square meter, outdoor grows typically produce up to 400 grams per plant. This strain yields some impressive numbers if grown correctly.
- Harvest: Outdoor growers can plan on harvesting their yields around the middle of October, depending on when the seeds were planted.
Grape Kush: Wine-Like Finish
The Grape Kush cannabis strain terpene profile is directly responsible for how the plant smells and tastes, and the strong effects it has on its users. The most dominant terpene in this strain is caryophyllene, while myrcene and Delta-3 Carene are the secondary terpenes.
- Caryophyllene: Most Dominant – This is known as the spicy or peppery terpene and can be found in cloves, black pepper, and cannabis plants.
- Myrcene: Secondary Terpene – Myrcene is earthy and found almost exclusively in cannabis plants.
- Delta-3 Carene: Distinctive Aroma – Commonly found in cannabis plants as well as rosemary, pine, and cedar trees, this terpene is known for being aromatically pleasant.

I am amazed at how fast these flower. I am on week 9 and they look almost ready. The resin is sticky and the buds are dense and heavy. This has been a very rewarding grow journey.
I am really happy with the plant structure. It is very bushy and doesn’t require much extra work. The seeds arrived in great condition and the growth has been consistent across all four plants. I am very satisfied.
Reliable seeds and very fast shipping.
These seeds are clearly premium genetics.
Vibrant growth and very sturdy stems.
I was worried about the 63 day flowering time but they look right on track. The buds are dense and the vitality is off the charts. I noticed a high resistance to spider mites which is a huge plus for me. Great service.
Best seeds for a reliable harvest.
I am amazed at how fast these transitioned. By week four they were already showing pistils. The stems are strong enough to support the weight of the expanding buds without extra trellis. This is a very reliable strain for anyone wanting a fast harvest.
The plants are reaching about four feet indoors and the structure is perfect. I followed the 77 degree temperature recommendation and they are flourishing. One seed was a bit slower to pop but it eventually caught up to the rest of the pack.
Healthy plants and great germination rates.
