After the legalization of recreational cannabis in some states of the US, a new rise of consumer demands of weed-infused food and drinks in the restaurant sector is the talk of the town. If you are looking for one such experience for this weekend, here’s our highly recommended list of weed restaurants across the states.

The Rise in US Weed Restaurants

We tried our best to find a wide variety of weed restaurants that span across the entire United States. It would be a shame if all of them were located in California or Colorado. That being said, the number of weed restaurants in a certain state directly depends on said location’s marijuana laws. Even as many states move to legalize cannabis due to the economic impact of COVID-19, a handful still do not allow any version of it.

On the bright side, though, CBD is legal in all 50 states, and you better believe that restaurants are cashing in on that business. The CBD industry is inching closer to becoming a one billion dollar industry—currently at $967.2 million as of 2020. Economists now say that the CBD industry may overshadow marijuana in terms of money and incoming dollars. Not only is that good news for us as consumers, but it’s all good news for weed restaurants.

Weed Restaurants

Weed Restaurants from Coast to Coast

California

Starting on the West Coast, arguably the most cannabis-friendly corner of the country, we have Lowell Farm Cafe in West Hollywood. The dining establishment brands itself as the “first full-service restaurant and lounge to offer farm-to-table cannabis and cuisine.” It may have been the first cannabis restaurant to pop up in the US.

Oregon

Situated in Southeast Portland, Ankeny Tap and Table serves up delicious comfort classics like burgers, sandwiches, and breakfast staples.  Locals and tourists alike come here for the delicious food—but also their CBD-infused beers. Several beers have CBD oil added to them to provide a hefty dose of relaxation to your dining experience.

Washington

It wouldn’t be a complete road trip up the West Coast without a stop in Seattle. Did you know that Washington was one of the first states to legalize cannabis across the board? LUVN Kitchen has been a fan favorite since 2014 thanks to their culinary cannabis catering business and virtual cooking classes. Now, you can dine in for cannabis-infused meals or cook your home at home.

Weed Restaurants

Nevada

Open for over 40 years, The Dispensary Lounge in Las Vegas has it all. Here you can enjoy 24/7 dining service, gaming, and gambling all within a fully operational marijuana dispensary. This one establishment has everything you could ever want: weed, food, casino games, and jazz music.

Colorado

If you’d rather skip dinner and jump straight into dessert, we have a delicious donut spot for you. Habit Doughnut Dispensary offers some of the most unique filling flavors in the state, many of which come with the added bonus of CBD tincture and/or bitters. And guess what? You can even infuse your donut with CBD cold brew, beer, and spirits for a boozy sweet treat.

Texas

We were stunned to see weed restaurants in the Lone Star state. But alas, in the heart of Dallas you’ll find the upscale (and slightly expensive) Suze restaurant and cocktail bar. If it’s CBD you’re after, you have to order the one and only infused cocktail on the menu: A Love Field. It’s made with gin, lemon, Maraschino liqueur, and Lillet aperitif.

Weed Restaurants

Oklahoma

Okay, this one’s kind of a cheat. There’s no actual cannabis for CBD on the menu at the Get Toasted Food Truck. However, their entire shtick revolves around weed culture and has a weed theme woven into their food. They have muchie-worthy french toast flavors like s’mores, strawberry cheesecake, and Nutella along with protein sides like chicken, eggs, sausage, or bacon.

Illinois

Now that Illinois has legalized marijuana, we can (hopefully( expect to see more cannabis restaurants pop up in the future. The upscale and swanky Herbal Notes in Chicago serves weed-infused foods with various flower strains and THC products. The restaurant, owned by Chef Manuel Mendoza, prides itself on being a true dining experience with classical music in the background and education on the benefits of marijuana.

Pennsylvania

Fuel Healthy Kitchen in Philadelphia is a health-food lover’s dream. This hip restaurant offers smoothies, wraps, juices, and different bowls that feature CBD as an add-on option. Originally based out of Philadelphia, Fuel Healthy Kitchen has recently franchised and will be opening four more locations soon, possibly in Pittsburgh as well.

New York

With a name like 99th Floor Edibles, you better expect this weed restaurant to serve some of the most upscale and highly-quality plates in the canna-dining industry. Their location in New York City also features an on-site smoking lounge, complimentary sampling, and entertainment that does with the night’s events.

Massachusetts

We found that Eat Sacrilicious is one of the few high-quality dining experiences that, in order to attend one of their events, we need to sign up to be a member first. They can make beautiful yet simple dishes like grilled shrimp and avocado toast, grilled romaine Caesar salad, and cinnamon brown butter cake; all with an infusion of the highest quality marijuana.

Vermont

Last but not least, we have Monarch and the Milkweed in Burlington, Vermont. It opened in 2016 as a comfort food restaurant with a focus on pastries and cocktails, minus the CBD. It was only a year later that they decided to expand their pastry line to include CBD options in the form of gumdrops, truffles, marshmallows, and other confections.
