Growing Tips for Banana Kush Auto
Banana Kush Auto seeds are not the ideal cultivation option for beginner growers, but because they are autoflowering, they tend to be easier to grow than the original Banana Kush strain. While this hybrid, which is resistant to common diseases, pests, and mold, can thrive indoors and out, experienced cultivators recommend growing it inside where possible to control its growing environment and ensure that it gets plenty of light via artificial grow lamps. However, if you prefer to grow your Banana Kush Auto plants outside, then know that they require a warm and sunny environment where they’re able to get plenty of exposure to the light. No matter where you cultivate the near-evenly-balanced Indica-dominant strain, you will need to trim it regularly in order for its longer-growing branches to get all the light and air circulation they require. Maintaining the correct temperature and lighting is incredibly important for these plants to reach their peak potential. If you want to reap the rewards of large yields of high THC buds, then you are going to need to follow a few simple rules. The ideal temperature for these plants is between 70-80 degrees Fahrenheit. Humidity levels of approximately 50% during the vegetative phase, gradually decreasing to 40% during the flowering stage, will ensure a healthy grow. Low-Stress Training (LST), pruning, and trimming are the best methods of training for these plants. Because these plants grow bushy, they will require maintenance to ensure that they don’t grow out of control. Banana Kush Auto plants require an 18-20 hour light cycle. These plants do not require a change in the light cycle to induce the flowering stage of growth. They will change to flowering all on their own.
Yields, Flowering Time, and Harvest
- Flowering Time: Growing indoors, you can expect the Banana Kush Auto strain to harvest after a flowering period of 50-60 days.
- Yields: While Indoor yields are around 600 grams per square meter, outdoor grows typically produce up to 500 grams per plant. Banana Kush Auto tends to grow better indoors than it does outdoors. However, both yields are fantastic, and Banana Kush Auto is a little easier to grow than the original Banana Kush marijuana strain.
- Harvest: Outdoor grows should be ready to harvest around the end of September, depending on when you planted your seeds.
Banana Kush Auto: Earthy, Sweet & Tropical
The Banana Kush Auto terpene profile is directly responsible for how the plant smells and tastes, and the strong effects it has on its users. The most dominant terpene in this strain is caryophyllene, while myrcene and limonene are the secondary terpenes.
- Caryophyllene: Most Dominant – The “spicy and peppery” terpene. Found in cinnamon, cloves, black pepper, and cannabis.
- Myrcene: Secondary Terpene – Myrcene can be found in a number of cannabis strains and provides the herb with an earthy and woody flavor and aroma.
- Limonene: Citrus Fruits – Limonene can be found in abundance in the rinds of citrus fruits and in cannabis plants. This terpene helps decrease anxiety and improve lung function.

These flowers are more powerful than the others. The strong high from the THC makes the experience stronger. The pharmacy works well and can be relied on.

This was my first time trying autoflowering seeds and OMG, they are so worth it. I always heard they were easy to grow, but I was still a little skeptical. However, they were perfect. They automatically transitioned from the vegetative to the flowering stage without having to switch the light cycles. It isn’t a photoperiod strain, so it doesn’t need a certain amount of hours of light. Plus, it was ready for harvest in about 9 weeks and the yield was mighty. Banana Kush exceeded everything!

The taste and smell of this strain are amazing, with sweet and tropical notes. The high is euphoric and relaxing, perfect for winding down after a long day. I had no issues with germination and the plants grew easily. Overall, a great purchase from Pacific Seed Bank with fast shipping and helpful customer service.

Such good weed for the money! I’ve been growing my own for the last year and I’m still delighted as the first time when I get a whole lot of bud for a small investment of a few seeds. Banana Kush is easy to grow and I really REALLY like the high. I’m a stone sculptor, and this stuff gets me in the creative zone like nothing else. After smoking this weed I can work for hours. Love it!

Easy to grow and very satisfying yield! You get a lot of weed for your money which is how I like it. Ever seed I ordered germinated so fast and flowered in only 51 days. Textbook grow with no problems. Lots of fantastic weed that was heavy, potent and one of my favorites to smoke. Really good flavor, too. Definitely ordering again.

My delivery was surprisingly fast. Nearly all my seeds popped, which I was so happy about. Growing was pretty easy, but I needed more light (I’m just starting out with this growing thing …) so I got another lamp. That seemed to do the trick and I got a great yield, about 470 grams per weed. I really liked banana kush, it lightened my mind without scrambling it at all. Good feeling and it helped me sleep like a baby.

Smoked my first ripe and dried bud of Banana Kush the other day and HOLY MOLY. This is easily one of my top ten favorites. So easy to grow and so enjoyable to smoke. My mom is an artist and she loves this stuff. Definitely a good one for creatives or anyone who wants to think outside the box for a day. Grew these ladies in my sunroom where they got a lot of light and they were so so happy. Happy plants yield excellent crops and I have absolutely no complaints. Will def be ordering from Pacific again.

I love some good weed from the USA, call me old-fashioned and patriotic, I guess! Banana Kush reminds me of the years I spent living in San Francisco and me and my roommate would get high on Saturday nights before going out dancing. How the banana smell of Banana Kush takes me back to that time so easily. Grew this mj with my indoor set up and was very happy with my high (500 g) yield. Planning to order this again with PSB for the trippy high and the lovely memories. ?

I love this weed! The leaves are nice and big and smell and look like a banana tree haha, and the smoke is really heady and creative. Definitely relaxing without clouding my thoughts like some other indicas do. Definitely helps me get to sleep early too. Does take a little bit of extra trimming for a good yield and lots of light but that was pretty much all I needed to get a good yield, so, I’m happy!

Sometimes only some decent weed will lift me out of a funk and get me right with the planet. Banana Kush is one of the best strains I’ve found for my kind of depression, which you might characterize as “pervasive melancholy.” But watch it, because with strong marijuana like this you’ve got to get the dosage right: Too much and you won’t be depressed but you’ll also be non compos mentis if you’ll pardon my Latin.
I’m starting to get the hang of the indoor grow, and I must say the aroma of this herb while it matures is pleasant indeed.

I’m generally a fan of all of the kush varieties and Banana Kush is no exception. The THC percentage is high, so I would say this isn’t a strain for lightweights. Or if you’re new to smoking or can’t handle anything super strong, just microdose this one. Uplifting high. Pushed away the dark clouds and made me feel positive and engaged. Good taste and smell. Heavy yield.

I have insomnia and depression and banana kush is the best mj to get me through the week. It is impactful enough to make a difference and lift my spirits and I have enough growing experience to grow a great plant. Pacific is a great place to buy pot from: the germination guide is good for beginners and the people at Pacific know all about marijuana. Got good creativity vibes from BK, too, always want to have this mj around to help me out.
