Black Russian Auto is the ideal strain for first-time growers who have little to no experience cultivating their own cannabis plants. While Black Russian Auto marijuana plants can thrive indoors and outdoors, most professional cultivators maintain that the easiest place to cultivate this Indica-dominant strain is indoors because of the ability to control the environment. If you are going to grow indoors, you will need to replicate a warm, sunny environment to make this strain thrive, similar to that of the Mediterranean.
Black Russian Auto performs best with ample sunlight and fresh air, as well as nutrient-rich soil. If you are going to grow outdoors, you will need the correct temperature and humidity to get these plants to the harvest stage, and doing so will produce massive yields of hearty buds. Having access to a greenhouse is the best way to give these plants the outdoor climate they need without having to deal with changing weather.
Because these plants grow medium to tall, they require a little bit more space vertically and laterally to grow. The ideal temperature for these plants is around 68-80 degrees Fahrenheit. Humidity levels should be kept at 30-60% during its vegetative stage and slowly decreased every week so that once these marijuana plants are in their flowering phase, the humidity level is at, or around, 40%.
Low-stress training (LST), pruning, and topping are the best training techniques for this particular strain of cannabis. These methods shape the canopy so that light and air can reach the bottom-most buds. Pruning will get rid of the lower branches that don’t have any buds, so that more air and light can hit all levels of the plant from the top buds to the soil. These training techniques will increase the overall yields of this strain during harvest time. Black Russian Auto plants require an 18-20 hour light cycle to reach the vegetative stage of growth. Because this strain is an autoflowering variety, it does not require a change in the light cycle to induce flowering; the plants will change to the flowering phase of growth on their own.
