Growing Tips for Candy Cane Auto
Candy Cane Auto can be a bit tricky to grow, so it is best left to intermediate-level growers who have a green thumb. Candy Cane Auto marijuana plants will thrive both indoors and outdoors, but have an easier time growing indoors because of the grower’s ability to manage the climate. If you choose to grow indoors, you will have to replicate a steady environment similar to the climate of the Mediterranean. Candy Cane Auto seeds produce plants that are vibrant green and appear to be dusted in white trichomes. The buds of these plants are coated in crystal resin, making them stickier than your average plants. If you are going to grow outdoors, you will need to maintain a consistent temperature and humidity to grow these plants to harvest. Doing so will ensure that you grow potent and pungent buds from the top of the plants to the bottom. Having access to a greenhouse is the best way to give these plants the perfect outdoor climate they require without having to put up with unexpected outdoor variables. These plants grow small but can reach around 4 feet in height. Because the plants reach a maximum height of 4 feet, they will fit nicely in most smaller grow areas. The ideal temperature for these plants is around 75-85 degrees Fahrenheit. Humidity levels should be kept around 40-70% during the vegetative growth stage and the flowering stage. Growing indoors will ensure that the moderate humidity levels and higher temperatures are constant and maintained every day that the plants are in the growing stages. Topping and Low-stress training (LST) are the best training methods for this particular strain. Each of these methods will promote plant growth and bud development and increase yields come harvest time. The Candy Cane Auto strain requires an 18-hour light cycle to reach the vegetative stage of growth. Because this strain is an autoflowering variety, it does not require a change in the light cycle to induce the flowering stage of growth. It will reach flowering automatically.
Yields, Flowering Time, and Harvest
- Flowering Time: Growing indoors, you can expect the Candy Cane Auto strain to harvest after a short flowering period of 50-60 days.
- Yields: While Indoor yields are around 50 grams per square meter, outdoor grows typically produce up to 75 grams per plant. While these yields are very small, they are packed with potent and pungent buds.
- Harvest: Outdoor growers can plan on harvesting their yields around the beginning of October, depending on when the seeds were planted.
Candy Cane Auto: Minty Sweet
The Candy Cane Auto terpene profile is directly responsible for how the plant smells and tastes, and the strong effects it has on its users. The most dominant terpene in this strain is caryophyllene, while limonene and pinene are the secondary terpenes.
- Caryophyllene: Most Dominant – Known as the spicy and peppery terpene, you can find caryophyllene in cinnamon and cannabis.
- Limonene: Secondary Terpene – Found in the rinds of citrus fruits, limonene can help with anxiety and depression when found in cannabis.
- Pinene: Conifer Trees– Pinene is commonly found in pine needles and conifer trees and produces a pine-like scent and taste in cannabis plants.
