Growing Tips for Diesel Auto
Diesel Auto is a novice grower’s dream because of how easy it is to cultivate. Diesel Auto marijuana plants will thrive indoors and outdoors, but have an easier time growing indoors because of the ability to completely control the climate. If you choose to grow indoors, you will have to replicate a steady environment similar to the climate of the Mediterranean. Diesel Auto cannabis seeds grow into dusty, resin-coated plants with cone-shaped buds that are green and yellow. If you choose to grow outdoors, you will need to hope for consistent temperature and humidity to grow these plants to completion. Doing so will ensure that you grow healthy buds from the top of the plants to the buds closest to the soil. Having access to a greenhouse is the best way to give these plants the perfect outdoor climate without having to put up with unexpected outdoor variables. These plants grow to a small height and can reach around 2-4 feet tall. Because the plants reach a maximum indoor and outdoor height of 4 feet, you won’t need to give them a lot of space to grow vertically and laterally. The ideal temperature for these plants is around 70-80 degrees Fahrenheit and slightly cooler at night. Humidity levels should be kept around 30-60% during the vegetative growth stage and the flowering stage, but lowering the humidity every week will help this plant grow. Growing indoors will ensure that the moderate humidity levels and moderate temperatures are consistent and maintained every day that the plants are in the growing stages. Sea of Green (SOG) and Low-stress training (LST) methods are the most beneficial methods for this strain. If performed correctly, these techniques will help to increase the overall yields and improve bud production. These methods help to adjust the canopy so that fresh air and light penetrate the top branches and reach the bottom buds. The Diesel Auto strain requires an 18-hour light cycle to reach the vegetative stage of growth. This strain does not require a change in the light cycle to induce the flowering stage of growth.
Yields, Flowering Time, and Harvest
- Flowering Time: Growing indoors, you can expect the Diesel Auto strain to harvest after a short flowering period of 50-60 days.
- Yields: While Indoor yields are around 350 grams per square meter, outdoor grows typically produce up to 100 grams per plant. Although the yields are small, you can grow multiple plants in a smaller area to increase those yields exponentially.
- Harvest: Outdoor growers can plan on harvesting their yields around the beginning of October, depending on when the seeds were planted.
Diesel Auto: Sweet & Pungent Citrus-Diesel
The Diesel Auto cannabis strain terpene profile is directly responsible for how the plant smells and tastes, and the strong effects it has on its users. The most dominant terpene in this strain is limonene, while ocimene and sabinene are the secondary terpenes.
- Limonene: Most Dominant – Commonly found in the rinds of citrus fruits like lemons and oranges, this terpene gives cannabis a citrusy scent and taste.
- Ocimene: Secondary Terpene – Found in cannabis plants, basil, mint, parsley, and mangoes, this terpene is aromatic and sweet
- Sabinene: Aromatic Compound – Naturally occurring, sabinene contributes spicy, woody, and citrusy notes when found in cannabis plants.

Diesel from Coastal Genetics was a great strain for me. I loved the energizing and uplifting effects, perfect for getting things done during the day. The taste was a little strong, but I got used to it after a couple of hits. Growing this strain was easy and the yields were impressive. A great choice for those looking for a sativa with a little kick.
Diesel is originally an East Coast Gem, making it’s way through NYC in the 70’s and 80’s. I am LOVING growing it at home, especially in NYC where weed is now LEGAL!!! Buying pot online really saves a lot of time and it’s always been high quality seed. Germination time is anywhere between a few days to a couple weeks. Great MJ takes time, and creates a bounty of nug that will keep you coming back for MORE!!
Can’t. Go. Wrong. With. This. Weed. Seriously. It’s so good! Not only is it easy as hell to grow but the amount of mj your left with is a lot when you take into account how cheap these seeds are. And when Pacific sends you seeds, ALL OF EM are good. Not just *some* like what you get with other places. This is my fav place to buy from no question because when I order 5 seeds, I get 5 plants. BOOM.
So, I like Diesel a lot and it was super easy to grow, but I’m knocking a few stars off because of a smaller yield than I would have liked. Autoflowering and outdoor grow combined made it basically effortless but I was still hoping for a little more. I’m new to growing so next time around I’ll explore some other techniques for a higher yield. It’s great weed to smoke on all day and pretty heavy on the Sativa side so I don’t get too stoney. Ordering from Pacific Seed Bank was great though, they’re really friendly in terms of customer service.
I mean, you can’t go wrong with the Diesel strain. This stuff has been a staple in my social circles for YEARS. I’ve been a semi-professional grower for years, mostly I grow veggies but I’ve got a “green” thumb as well if you know what I mean…Happy I ordered from pacific, their customer service was G-R-E-A-T!!! I’ve got about 20 plants strong on my land, and I am hoping to sell some to the local dispensaries. And of course I’ve been smoking it myself haha! Share this stuff with my buddies when they come by with a couple of beers and the night just flies right on by. Delicious stuff, man.
I’m an artist, mainly sculpting but sometimes I paint too. When I find I’m just staring at a mound of modeling clay, I smoke a joint of the Diesel strain, give it about 20 minutes to kick in, and let the creativity waves wash over me. Next thing I know, I’ve hammered out two sculptures and have an idea for a new canvas painting as well. Diesel seems to tap perfectly into my creative side, and I’m very thankful for it.
