Growing Tips for Aurora Indica

Aurora Indica plants can be difficult to grow if you don’t have any prior experience cultivating cannabis. Intermediate and master-level growers shouldn’t have any issues bringing this strain to fruition. You can grow Aurora Indica both indoors and outdoors under the correct conditions. Indoor grows tend to be easier because the conditions can be controlled from beginning to end. Replicating a Mediterranean-type environment is your best bet at growing big, full buds of THC-rich cannabis. If you are planning to grow outdoors, you will need to do so in the summertime to provide the plant(s) with the most sunlight, best air quality, and correct temperatures and humidity for this strain to thrive. If you live in an area where you have good weather year-round, then you can cultivate this crop year-round. The plants tend to grow medium to tall in height, so you will need to consider space when planning your grow. Ample vertical space and lateral space are needed so these plants don’t grow on top of one another. The more room these plants have, the fuller they will grow. The ideal temperature for these plants is between 70-80 degrees Fahrenheit. Humidity levels of approximately 60% during the vegetative phase, gradually decreasing to 40% during the flowering stage, will ensure a healthy grow. Low-Stress Training (LST) and Sea of Green are the best methods of training for these plants. These plants benefit from having a lot of space to stretch out, especially the root system, which tends to sprawl out laterally. Aurora Indica plants require an 18-20 hour light cycle to get them started through the vegetative stage. To induce the flowering stage of growth, you will need to change the light cycle to a 12/12 cycle. You can maintain this light cycle through to your harvest.

Yields, Flowering Time, and Harvest

  • Flowering Time: Growing indoors, you can expect the Aurora Indica strain to harvest after a flowering period of 55-65 days.
  • Yields: While Indoor yields are around 400 grams per square meter, outdoor grows typically produce up to 400 grams per plant. Given how tricky this strain can be to grow, these yields are fantastic. Utilizing the proper training techniques will increase your yields, as this crop will require more attention than most.
  • Harvest: Outdoor grows should be ready to harvest around the end of September, depending on when you planted your seeds.

Aurora Indica: Sweet and Spicy

The Aurora Indica terpene profile is directly responsible for how the plant smells and tastes, and the strong effects it has on its users. The most dominant terpene in this strain is caryophyllene, while myrcene and limonene are the secondary terpenes.

  • Caryophyllene: Most Dominant – The “spicy and peppery” terpene. Found in cinnamon, cloves, black pepper, and cannabis.
  • Myrcene: Secondary Terpene – Known in the cannabis world as the “Mother of all Terpenes”, myrcene gives marijuana its earthy flavor and aroma.
  • Limonene: Citrus Fruits – Limonene can be found in abundance in the rinds of citrus fruits and in cannabis plants. This terpene helps decrease anxiety and improve lung function.

Growing my own cannabis was a dream I had for years, and finally taking that leap was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. After choosing a renowned seed variety, I planted them with great anticipation. The germination was successful, and soon enough, I watched as small green stalks broke through the soil. Day by day, they thrived, becoming tall and radiant. It felt like I was nurturing little green friends; each day brought new surprises. I dedicated myself to learning about their needs, understanding what they craved. Not only did I cultivate plants, but the entire process became therapeutic for me. Harvest time was a celebration! I couldn’t believe how rewarding it was to transform seeds into beautiful buds. The achievement felt monumental, and I find myself relishing the fruits of my labor every day.

With its indica dominance and soothing effects, it’s perfect for relaxation. The sweet mango and lavender aroma adds to the overall experience. And with its shorter height and heavy buds, it’s an excellent choice for indoor growers.

The aurora indica strain is pretty intense. Usually it sinks in pretty slowly and then all of the sudden you are PLANTED on the couch! Good flavor and a pungent smell, usually stinks up the house but I don’t mind the reek of it cause it smells like skunk and dead flowers, kind of….soothing? Very nice and hallucinogenic! I feel like I am tripping a little bit every time I smoke this pot!

  10. David Murray Verified Buyer

The quality of the seeds were amazing, germination rate was great and shipping was very fast. Growing the plants has been a breeze, so far, and I am excited to harvest this strain! Despite not yet harvesting, I can already tell that this strain will provide me with a great yield. All-in-all, Aurora Indica Seeds is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a trustworthy seed.
