Growing Tips for Chemdog #4
Chemdog #4 should only be grown by intermediate and master-level cultivators. Chemdog #4 marijuana plants will thrive both indoors and outdoors, but have an easier time growing indoors because of the grower’s ability to manage the climate. If you choose to grow indoors, you will have to replicate a steady environment similar to the climate of California in the summer. Chemdog #4 seeds produce plants that are bright green with little yellow and white hairs growing out of the bud structure. If you are going to grow outdoors, you will need to maintain a consistent temperature and humidity to grow these plants to harvest. Doing so will ensure that you grow potent and pungent buds from the top of the plants to the bottom. Having access to a greenhouse is the best way to give these plants the perfect outdoor climate they require without having to put up with unexpected outdoor variables. These plants grow medium to tall and can reach around 4-7 feet in height. Because the plants reach a maximum outdoor height of nearly 8 feet, you are going to have to constantly monitor the tops of the plants so that they do not grow too tall. The ideal temperature for these plants is around 68-80 degrees Fahrenheit and slightly cooler at night. Humidity levels should be kept around 30-50% during the vegetative growth stage and the flowering stage. Growing indoors will ensure that the moderate humidity levels and moderate temperatures are constant and maintained every day that the plants are in the growing stages. Sea of Green (SOG), Screen of Green (ScrOG), and Low-stress training (LST) are the most commonly used training techniques for Chemdog #4. Employing these techniques can increase your yields by focusing on the most potent and largest buds on the plant. The Chemdog #4 strain requires an 18-20 hour light cycle to reach the vegetative stage of growth. Changing the light cycle to a 12/12 cycle will help to induce the flowering stage of growth.
Yields, Flowering Time, and Harvest
- Flowering Time: Growing indoors, you can expect the Chemdog #4 strain to harvest after a flowering period of 60-70 days.
- Yields: While Indoor yields are around 600 grams per square meter, outdoor grows typically produce up to 600 grams per plant. These yields are absolutely massive and a solid harvest after a job well done.
- Harvest: Outdoor growers can plan on harvesting their yields around the end of October, depending on when the seeds were planted.
Chemdog #4: Chemical Taste and Smell
The Chemdog #4 terpene profile is directly responsible for how the plant smells and tastes, and the strong effects it has on its users. The most dominant terpene in this strain is caryophyllene, while myrcene, linalool, humulene, and pinene are the secondary terpenes.
- Caryophyllene: Most Dominant – Most commonly found in black pepper and cinnamon. Known as the spicy and peppery terpene.
- Myrcene: Secondary Terpene – Known as the “mother of all terpenes”, myrcene gives cannabis plants the earthy and pungent aroma they are known for.
- Pinene: Pine Needles – Commonly found in pine needles and conifer trees, this terpene gives off a piney scent when found in cannabis.
- Linalool: Floral Aroma – Linalool is a floral terpene and can be found in cannabis plants and lavender.
- Humulene: Super Earthy – Most commonly found in beer with high hop content.

This weed hits pretty sour…but it packs a punch, and gives me a great sense of relaxation…..hard to focus….kinda makes me spacey and tired and lightheaded…..it’s good though….better than most dispensary weed out there, fresher I mean. 100% germination is really pretty special especially with online purchasing and whatnot. Looking for a big yielder? If you are, then Chemdog #4 is your top dog because you’ll get a massive amount of bud with these seeds. I grew mine outdoors and got back around 600 grams per plant. I definitely needed that much since this is one of my favorites. And, I’m not selfish – I love to share it with my friends. We all love this strain!
Not only did the plants grow beautifully with full germination, but the high was out of this world. It starts with a blissful, uplifting buzz and then eases into a deep, relaxing couch lock. The taste is citrusy with a hint of pine, making it a delight to smoke.
Hey all, I do not have the best track record when it comes to growing weed. Generally my stuff gets really really leggy and doesn’t produce very much pot. I am sad about it but I am turning it around. This time has been pretty great. I trimmed and pruned my plants like a gangster! I really babied these guys, watering them, pruning, fertilizing, you name it! The end result was like a mini-christmas tree….filled with weed flower. YAY! Chemdog #4 was a great strain for me to grow. All of my seeds sprouted, and the plants grew tall with large yields. The citrus and pine taste was a nice touch, and the euphoric and relaxing effects were perfect for helping me with stress and depression.
