Description

Don’t worry, there’s nothing fishy about Black Tuna marijuana seeds, although this potent hybrid (which was bred with medical uses in mind) is something of a mystery.

What you get when you take a hit of Black Tuna marijuana is a mental high that will lift you up into the clouds and leave a smile on your face. After awhile, the sedative qualities of this indica-dominant strain will bring you back to earth, relaxing the body. It may not have the highest levels of THC (upwards of 23% when you’re lucky) but too much of this intense strain can have you glued to the couch.

Black Tuna won’t be winning any awards for its scent – on the nose, you’ll most likely notice its skunkiness, with earthy tones tempering that pungency. The flavor follows the aroma, though slightly more herbal, and most patients should find it agreeable.

Patients love the sativa heritage of Black Tuna, and its uplifting nature, though some have reported elevated anxiousness. Black Tuna is not for the faint of heart, but if you’re dealing with depression or chronic pain, even anorexia or wasting syndrome, you’ll find Black Tuna a benefit.

Wondering where the mystery lies? It seems that the original breeder of Black Tuna marijuana seeds has made the interesting decision not to release information on the best way to cultivate this strain. If that doesn’t entice you to try out Black Tuna seeds in your garden, we don’t know what will.

Black Tuna is a mysterious strain that delivers a mental high that lifts you to the clouds and leaves you with a smile. Its sedative effects bring you back to earth, melting away stress and relaxing the body. With a skunky aroma and herbal flavor, Black Tuna may not be for everyone, but it’s a great choice for those seeking relief from depression or chronic pain.

  2. Jaqueline Foster (verified owner)

Has a pungent, fishy smell but hits like a charm. I smoke this every afternoon when I am starting to feel the slump. A brilliant choice for any garden, just takes a master hand to really secure a good yield.

Sometimes it gets a little fickle when germinating, that’s why I always recommend soaking your seeds before planting. I know it sounds cheesy but Pacific has a great blog section on taking care of MJ plants and you can really learn a lot!

  3. Zoey Ochoa (verified owner)

A bit smelly for my taste but the weed is good and the high is pretty potent. Definitely gonna be hitting up Pacific for more seed this coming season. Their variety is fresh and they ship fast all over the USA. Even bought some extra for my cousin in LA and gave it as a bday gift. Yo you shoulda seen his face LOL

  4. Ryan Kidd (verified owner)

I had a great time growing Black Tuna, this was very easy to grow and I got a decent-sized yield from growing this indoors. The strain is great for a nice body high that is not too overwhelming.

  5. Jovani Meza (verified owner)

Tuna fish may not be your favorite, but when you have a marijuana-named black tuna on the market, you better get your net ready!
This MJ is a great grow for intermediate and experienced cultivators. It takes a skilled hand to truly master this unique and fickle strain, but don’t worry, Pacific has GREAT growing advice for those who want to learn. I averaged about 100 G per plant, usually with 300-400 G per harvest. It’s a dense, sticky, dark-colored flower, very pungent, and great for end-of-day smoking!

  6. Kenneth Wheeler (verified owner)

Black tuna is fresh and funky. May be a little difficult for the average grower to perfect, and it is a highly niche strain. Buying online is pretty convenient, and you can’t go wrong with really any of the strains on this website….I choose this one cause it’s a fun challenge and I LOVE the freaky funky tuna smell haha. I am crazy I know 😉

  7. Joshua Ochoa (verified owner)

Black Tuna is a powerful strain that provides deep relaxation, making it perfect for those suffering from insomnia or chronic pain. The skunky and spicy flavors add an extra layer to the experience. The yield was impressive, and the ease of growth make this strain a great choice for any grower looking for a potent and reliable strain.

  8. Avni Cousins (verified owner)

I like dank nug, what can I say? Black tuna is some SERIOUSLY dank weed, with a pungent earthy skunky fishy smell, it’s so powerful my dang nose curls when I enter the room. It’s radioactive, it’s sweet and dank and super serious growing. It’s meant for HARDCORE stoners who want to UP. THEIR. GAME!!!! Even just 3 seeds is enough to get some serious dank ganja, and it lasts for a LONG time. Get GROWING!!!

  9. Mohamed Lucas (verified owner)

Gnarly black sticky nugs that smell like sour berries and get you profoundly high. I smoke this weed cause I am looking for a little something extra, and plus I’ve been a smoker for so long, I NEED that 20% THC to feel any kind of way haha. Growing my own mj has changed my perspective on the plant and the industry. It’s now my belief that everyone should have this in their yard!

  10. Alejandro Webb (verified owner)

This weed got some stank but it gets me high!

5 seeds was good enough for me. 4/5 became full-grown plants. The other one died 🙁

  11. Maegan Osborn (verified owner)

Black tuna is pretty dank and smelly. More of a challenge grow than a grow for pleasure. I got medium yields, usually between 100-200 G per plant. Smoked it plenty during the summer, just tends to make me groggy and tired. I think I’d prefer another strain, but I know the genetics are good on these seeds.

  12. Emyr Bloom (verified owner)

Not my favorite strain, and honestly something of a difficult grow. Was a fun experiment but next time I’m growing kush.

  13. Stan Esquivel (verified owner)

Smelly!!! This weed stinks up the joint, so just be prepared to get hella stoned and bury yourself in blankets on the couch. Happy I finally have a chance to grow my own marijuana. Makes me super happy to know this weed is available for me to grow. It’s made me happy and excited to have a new hobby and a great way to unwind.

  14. Abi Solis (verified owner)

Yep this stuff has a real stink to it, but I don’t mind! I like my weed nice and skunky and dense and sour, and that’s what this weed is like! It’s definitely better at night, cause during the day all it does it make me feel anxious and groggy. Not my fave 🙁 But during the night I just feel like laughing!

  15. Casper Morrow (verified owner)

If you can stand the smell, you can stand the weed. The black tuna weed is a HARD grow. DO NOT grow unless you KNOW WHAT YOU’RE DOING!!

  16. Lucian Burt (verified owner)

This might be the funkest weed you have ever smoked, but it doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try it. It’s really flavorful, but yeah the smoke is harsh and it will make you cough up a lung lol. At least the high is nice and energizing, great for smoking in the afternoon when you start to run out of gas. Not a difficult grow my friends!

  17. Anika Finney (verified owner)

This weed puts a tingle in my toes! Tuna isn’t just my favorite deli sandwich, it’s the best way to get high any time of day! Definitely a PUNGENT strain, with some DENSE sticky nugs that make for a perfect blunt. This weed burns low and slowwwww. It’s gonna stink up the joint though so be sure you got the proper ventilation systems in place!!

  18. Brandy Dickerson (verified owner)

Been a black tuna fan since before it was a HIP and Underground strain that all the hipster kids love to smoke in Chicago. No, I was an OG South Side grower in the 90s and NOBODY gonna tell me my black tuna didn’t stink up the neighborhood…in a good way! This strain is [PERFECT] for home growers like myself. Thanks Pacific for making it easy.

  19. Kaci Whitley (verified owner)

Has a funky smell and some nice looking nugs. A darker color than most weed. Interested in buying more from Pacific, their seeds always seem to germinate. Have had great luck in the past and I am not much of a gardener so that is saying something.

  20. Madeeha Powers (verified owner)

Get funky with some black tuna marijuana. Love its taste and smell, its incredible sour bite! Really makes me wanna smile every time.

  21. Yvette Brown (verified owner)

Black tuna, not your beginner’s weed. Better for smoking that for baking, cause the smell might get to ya. Not a problem when you’re smell deaf like me. Yes, it’s a real thing. Can’t smell my beautiful weed, but I sure can smoke it, and it turns the world all purple and blue :)))

  22. Jordan Barnard (verified owner)

Give me some black tuna to grow and you know I am gonna slay that S**T.

I am the absolute best grower of these odd strains, and I love to give these plants all the attention that they need to thrive and survive.

I am somewhat obsessed with this process.

I am addicted to shopping online.

  23. Leonidas Nieves (verified owner)

Ordered online, and like magic, it arrived in my mailbox. Gotta love online ordering, pretty fast and simple. This strain is….unique. It’s an acquired taste for all the weed connoisseurs out there. I bought 5 seeds, got 3/5 to germ, and then grow them in my backyard wowwwww, such an awesome experience 🙂

  24. Eoin Stott (verified owner)

Good weed but hard to grow. Not for beginners. Easy to use website and reliable online ordering.

  25. Hana Sherman (verified owner)

Wow I was feeling really adventerous and decided it was best to order a strain I had NEVER heard of. Black Tuna? How weird is that? Ordering online makes it SOOOooo easy omg. I am like totally gonna buy from Pacific again cause they gave me sooooo much good advice. Great purchase from an awesome online store!

  26. Nikita Valenzuela (verified owner)

Never heard of black tuna weed before this….it’s such a funky strain….I was so excited to have this weed in my back pocket. Once I harvest all 500 grams I just rolled like 30 joints and am thrilled at how it all turned out. Gonna keep buying this weed for the near future!!

  27. Dorian Singleton (verified owner)

I was worried about the smell from this weed LOL but it turns out its pretty manageable. I get real stoned when I smoke this weed, and I usually just do it at night so I can relax a little bit. I don’t mind the long sleepy effect this has on me, it’s actually been great for my anxiety and depression and even insomnia, so win win overall.

  28. Gwion Feeney (verified owner)

That’s a pretty crazy smell I tell ya, definitely haven’t experienced that before! Ordered online and got it delivered to my place here in the PNW, very nice to grow, very nice on the nose and helps me when I am feeling a little depressed from Covid or the state of the world. I am happy for my purchase!

  29. Pete shar (verified owner)

Definitely not what I was expecting…but that doesn’t mean it’s not a good strain of weed, it’s just pretty pungent and it took me a long time to grow. But weed is weed and it’s always nice to have some homegrown stuff in the pantry 🙂

  30. beatconvo (verified owner)

Black tuna is a really nice strain for all kinda stress relief. I mean it is a little “heady” to be fair, but it’s definitely a good time every time. If you have the patience for growing it, or you just like being in the garden, then this is the strain for you!

  31. @imahottea (verified owner)

Black tuna is a weird strain…it kinda makes my skin get all prickly once I smoke it, but once the buzz sets in, it’s pretty chill actually, makes for a great buy if you’re an experienced grower…cause this one does take some effort. The smell is dank and very strong…I mean take it up if you got the guts for it, it’s worth it in the end 🙂

  32. Jan Merrille (verified owner)

It’s a very unique strain of mj, I bought it on a whim actually just to see what it was like. It was a little harder to grow than I was expecting, but it definitely had a nice smell to it, and it gave me a very buzzy high. It’s kinda dense and the weed is sour and harsh, but it’s a nice hybrid blend and makes for a good painting session!

  33. Happy Guy (verified owner)

Never tried this strain before, pretty good! Had a lot of fun growing it…it was a nice challenge, got me super excited about growing weed again. Nice seeds, all of them sprouted and grew into gorgeous plants. Very sticky, tight buds with a funky smell. Harsh smoking but a great high. It was fun!

  34. morethanyouknow (verified owner)

It’s funky and fickle and requires a lot of attention. If you are new to mj, then pass this one up, but if you have experience, especially growing indoors, then you will definitely enjoy the challenge! Gave me some great bud, very sticky and dense, with a very unique flavor and high. I keep this stuff to myself cause it tends to make me sleepy lol ZZZzzzz

  35. Patricker (verified owner)

Black tuna is a very interesting weed…it’s got a funky smell and a powerful earthy flavor, and the flowers are dark dark green, almost black in color, but the bud is sticky and dank as ever, and the way this stuff hits me, nice and slowwwwww. It’s good at the end of the day when I just wanna relax and have a nice cup of tea, helps me de-stress and unwind really. Not a productive strain, and not really a party strain either. Worth the effort though. Definitely a good buy!

  36. Ishouldknow (verified owner)

Heavy stuff, a little bit harsh on the mind, makes for a great buy though cause it’s a fun grow, at least for me…I’ve been doing this for years, never seems to get old, and this is some of the freshest tasting weed I was ever able to grow. Definitely has that earthy smell, a little fishy too, pretty pungent so watch yourself…the buds are gorgeous though, super dark color and real nice and sticky. Ya can’t go wrong when you grow your own weed.

  37. ferrari (verified owner)

Nice specialty grow, something really fantastic about its unique smell and flavor, although the yield can be a little small. I don’t mind though because these seeds have exceptional quality and the bud is really super fantastic. I guess the smell can drive SOME people away but not me. I will definitely buy this again and grow indoors!

  38. Albert (verified owner)

This is a lovely weed, especially if you’re having a bad day. I enjoy the nice indica sativa mix to this weed. It helps a lot with any anxiety or depression I may be feeling. I am happy with how things turned out in the garden as well. I got myself a nice yield after only 4 months of growing. It’s nice to have this weed around the house, but do be careful, it is pungent, and a wee bit fishy. Good buy!

  39. Duncan Reeds (verified owner)

This is a pretty happy weed. All I need is one or two drags off the J and I am feeling high as a kite. Never fails to put a smile on my face. Most of the growing was done by my gf, and she didn’t seem to have many complaints. It’s been nice sharing with her, but the smell of the weed is admittedly strong, so be careful, don”t wanna stink up your house or nothing.

  40. Ty H. (verified owner)

This is a funky weed with a real strong smell, it’s really potent and has a very heady buzz, a little light on the harvest tbh, but that wouldn’t stop me from growing it again in my basement, love the deep purple and green trichomes, and it’s got this amazing ability to make you feel creative and inspired!

  41. Dale L. (verified owner)

I love a bit of mystery, so was way into trying the black tuna mj. Turns out that growing it wasn’t hard at all and the good news is it’s a hardy strain too. Didn’t have to worry about any mold or fungus issues, though I did grow indoors, so I could control the enivorment as much as possible. It’s true that the smell of black tuna is strong and, um, sort of an acquired smell. Now I don’t mind it, but at first, I was like, what animal died in the wall?? Ha – anyway, black tuna is awesome for good times and relaxation.

  42. Kelsi H. (verified owner)

Tuna or not tuna: That is the question. The answer: Black Tuna.

I like this weed a lot. I don’t mind the smell and I haven’t found the high to be anxiety-inducing, as some reviewers have. It flowered pretty quickly for me in my basement setup and I got a modest but acceptable yield. While maybe not the best buy ever, this cannabis does hit me right in the feels, which is what I’m after.

  43. Mathew U. (verified owner)

Ummmmm, yeah. Not the greatest smelling weed ever. But if your getting hung up on the smell of your mj your doing it wrong. Not a lot of growing info out there about black tuna but thats okay. Im no rookie and got this just fine. Almost ready to harvest and i cant wait to try. I heard its good as a medical smoke cuz it does good with pain relief. thats what i need so hopefully it does the trick.

  44. Brooklyn I. (verified owner)

Definitely a unique strain of mj, not your typical find but PSB just has that kind of online selection that’ll keep you coming back for more! I grew this indoors, and got a fairly decent yield, but a bit smallish, the weed does have a pungent smell and it’ll definitely get into your home so keep that in mind. A nice smoke however, powerful and fairly evenly balanced, makes me kind of relaxed and buzzy in the head at the same time. I enjoy this weed on the weekends, as it’s a unique variety with a different kind of buzz!

  45. Janice D. (verified owner)

I work in a busy doctor’s office and my job is SUPER stressful. When I come home I just want to relax, forget about my day and just feel good. I basically told Pacific’s customer service people my list of must-haves and they recommended Black Tuna. Now that I’ve harvested and had a chance to smoke this medicine from heaven, I gotta say it is spot on for what I need. Thanks for the recommendation! I’ll for sure be buying these seeds again!

  46. Tania L. (verified owner)

I run a small indoor operation in southern WA with a focus on hybrids, first time with PSB but happy with the results. Quick to confirm order and seeds shipped out within a week, high germination and reliable yield with only two months to flower, good strain for commercial growers if you can handle the scent. Would buy again.

  47. Caleb J. (verified owner)

Best for those who use mj for medical reasons. My friend’s sister had anorexia and this helped her both feel better about herself and get her eating again. Another friend uses it for chronic pain. The skunky smell I find a bit off-putting (it’s also pretty strong!) but god bless those that use black tuna to have healthier lives. PSB was a great decision of where to buy seeds from. I’m happy with their products.

  48. Danny T. (verified owner)

I read that this weed was originally sold in sealed tuna cans by the original breeder, hence the name Black Tuna, which I thought was kinda neat. I ordered this strain specifically for medical benefits regarding appetite control and I’ve gotta say, it really helps. Nothing wildly remarkable about it aside from medical applications but overall it’s a pleasant smoke. Relatively easy to grow as well.

  49. Ava D. (verified owner)

Well, this strain really isn’t for the faint of heart, it can add to anxiety and paranoia so just keep an eye out for than before taking a huge bong rip of this stuff. I like it personally, it’s a good relaxing buzz when taken in moderation. I grew it in my basement, pretty pungent and skunky so glad I didn’t do it in the backyard around the neighbors. I find it to be a good sleep aid, and it gives me the munchies which is good cause I sometimes am too lazy to eat after work. Good weed is a gift!!!

  50. Etienne S. (verified owner)

Smells kind of weird and the yield was pretty small but don’t let that discourage you – this is easy to grow at home medical grade weed for sure. As somebody who is prone to depressive episodes this is an excellent thing to have on hand, so big points for it’s efficacy in fighting that. I didn’t have much trouble growing it so maybe listing it as intermediate is a bit off, I’m not really a green thumb. I couldn’t find seeds online anywhere else either for this particular strain.

  51. Amanda T. (verified owner)

Honestly, kind of a lot of work for a less than impressive yield, plus it’s pretty pungent haha! I mean, I did enjoy the process and had success with all 3 of my plants, so that’s a testament to PSB genetics and farm hookups, and the high is also pretty nice, very buzzy and cerebral, but yeah, you won’t make any friends with the smell and your neighbors may hate you haha!

  52. Jules R. (verified owner)

This is a great all-around weed! Really nice blend of indica and sativa with moderate THC levels, this strain keeps me happy, focused, and relaxed without getting too high to do what needs to get done. Not the biggest harvest ever, which makes it a good plant for novice growers who are still getting used to the process. Good for indoor growing because of plant size. Be careful though, smoking a fishbowl of this stuff will definitely cause some anxiety, so keep it mellow.

  53. Yousef C. (verified owner)

I found a description of this weed on a site I go to for growing information and they said seeds weren’t available for it at all but I found them here so I ordered them right away!! Got here fast and packaging was good. Knocking off a star for pretty small yield but otherwise good weed. Makes me nice and relaxed and I get to bed way easier with this than some other strains but it doesn’t conk me out like other indicas.

  54. Maxim C. (verified owner)

Yeah this shit is for sure pungent. I wouldn’t grow it outside, personally. Not just because of the smell but I don’t think you get as nice of a yield either. Grow it indoors and give it plenty of nutrients and it will pay you back ten-fold! As always I was happy with the seeds Pacific sent me, particularly the discreet shipping. Until weed is legal in the entire USA, that’s gonna be a thing for me and a lot of other folks as well. I really appreciate it!

  55. Melody C. (verified owner)

I’ve fine tuning my grow room trying to give myself some more room but also dialing in a few things so I just have a rotating schedule of weed growing all of the time. Black Tuna integrated into my operation really smoothly and I’m really pleased with the amount of weed my plants produced. They were healthy from beginning to end and I can’t say enough about how pleasant the smoke of these buds is. Good stuff and I think it works well for medical issues. Would highly recommend.
