Growing Tips for Candyland
Candyland is super easy to grow, even for novice and first-time cultivators. Candyland marijuana plants will thrive both indoors and outdoors, but have an easier time growing indoors because of the grower’s ability to manage the climate. If you choose to grow indoors, you will have to replicate a steady environment similar to the climate of the Mediterranean. Candyland seeds produce plants that are light green and have short, purple leaves with orange pistils. The buds of these plants are covered in resinous trichomes, making them appear white, like they are coated in sugar. If you are going to grow outdoors, you will need to maintain a consistent temperature and humidity to grow these plants to harvest. Doing so will ensure that you grow potent and pungent buds from the top of the plants to the bottom. Having access to a greenhouse is the best way to give these plants the perfect outdoor climate they require without having to put up with unexpected outdoor variables. These plants grow medium and can reach around 5 feet in height. Because the plants reach a maximum height of 5 feet, they will fit in smaller grow areas like closets and balconies, but still need ample vertical space to reach their peak. The ideal temperature for these plants is around 70-85 degrees Fahrenheit and slightly cooler at night. Humidity levels should be kept around 40-60% during the vegetative growth stage and the flowering stage. Growing indoors will ensure that the moderate humidity levels and higher temperatures are constant and maintained every day that the plants are in the growing stages. Topping, Screen of Green (ScrOG), and Low-stress training (LST) are the best training methods for this specific strain. These methods will help to control the plant’s height by shaping and trimming the canopy. This will also allow light and air to reach the bottommost buds on the plant. The Candyland strain requires an 18-20 hour light cycle to reach the vegetative stage of growth. Changing the light cycle to a 12/12 cycle will help to induce the flowering stage of growth and get you to harvest.
Yields, Flowering Time, and Harvest
- Flowering Time: Growing indoors, you can expect the Candyland strain to harvest after a short flowering period of 55-65 days.
- Yields: While Indoor yields are around 400 grams per square meter, outdoor grows typically produce up to 1000 grams per plant. You are going to be very happy with the yields these plants produce. You’ll be rich in dank buds for a long time after harvest.
- Harvest: Outdoor growers can plan on harvesting their yields around the middle of October, depending on when the seeds were planted.
Candyland: Simple and Potent
The Candyland terpene profile is directly responsible for how the plant smells and tastes, and the strong effects it has on its users. The most dominant terpene in this strain is caryophyllene, while myrcene, pinene, limonene, and linalool are the secondary terpenes.
- Caryophyllene: Most Dominant – Known as the spicy and peppery terpene, you can find caryophyllene in cinnamon and cannabis.
- Myrcene: Secondary Terpene – Commonly found in lilacs, sage, rosemary, apples, and cannabis, this terpene is known for having a woody and floral aroma.
- Pinene: Conifer Trees– Pinene is commonly found in pine needles and conifer trees and produces a pine-like scent and taste in cannabis plants.
- Limonene: Citrus – Found in the rinds of citrus fruits, limonene can help with anxiety when found in cannabis plants.
- Linalool: Floral Aroma – Linalool is one of the most floral terpenes in the plant kingdom and can be found in lavender and cannabis plants.
