Description
Mochi: Creamy and Sweet
The Mochi strain offers users a unique flavor profile featuring sweet, creamy, fruity, rich berry vibes and sour mint taste on the exhale. The aroma is a blend of mint, fruit, vanilla, and nutty undertones. Mochi owes this cornucopia of taste and scent to uber-popular parents Sunset Sherbet and Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies.
This strain’s THC content of up to 29% adds an intense potency to its already delicious flavor profile. The mental clarity pairs nicely with a strong body buzz and relaxation of the muscles and limbs. It has gained popularity as part of the Gelato strain line since its inception in the mid-2010s. Mochi was first bred and created by renowned breeder Sherbinskis out of San Francisco, California. Part of the Emerald Triangle area, famous for its hugely popular weed strains.
Growing Tips for Mochi
Mochi plants grow smaller indoors and taller outdoors. The buds of the plants are dense and spade-shaped, featuring purple and green hues. Coated in frosty white trichomes with bright orange hairs or pistils. Known for its resilience toward fluctuating temperatures. Like many cannabis strains, it performs best in a closely-controlled environment, but because it can endure minor dips and spikes concerning heat and moisture, it serves as a practical choice for growers with intermediate growing experience, as this strain is said to be moderately difficult. Below, we’ve provided effective ways to simplify and streamline the growing process.
Establish consistent conditions
Daytime temperatures of approximately 70-85 degrees Fahrenheit or approximately 21-29 degrees Celsius are ideal for Mochi plants. Humidity levels should fall between 60-65% during the vegetative stage, and drop to 50% during the flowering phase. A reduction in moisture helps eliminate the risk of mold while encouraging a more potent terpene profile.
Recommended Training Techniques
Low-stress Training, Topping, and Screen of Green (ScrOG) training techniques are best suited for this particular strain. These techniques require the grower to trim the non-producing parts of the plant while reinforcing the heavier branches and buds with screens or nets so the weight of the buds doesn’t compromise the integrity of the entire plant. Pruning the plants will help with volume and overall plant health throughout the growth process.
Fine-tune nutrient levels
All cannabis plants benefit from nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium (NPK). During vegetative growth, Mochi prefers greater amounts of nitrogen, as it promotes leaf and stem production. However, because nitrogen encourages leaf growth, it’s important to reduce levels during the flowering stage. This will allow your plants to channel their efforts towards resin-rich bud development instead. To lower nitrogen levels, try using a bloom formula or simply dilute your existing feed.
Germinating Your Mochi Seeds
Our straightforward germination guide is an easy-to-understand way for growers of all skill levels to start the growing process. If you have basic items on hand, such as paper towels and water, you can germinate your Mochi seeds like a pro.
Our step-by-step process allows taproots to emerge within 3–7 days, following which your seeds can be transferred to nutrient-rich soil, a hydroponic setup, or another growing medium of your choice. As an added benefit, growers who use our technique can cultivate with confidence, knowing their seeds are fully protected by our germination guarantee.
Yields, Flowering Times, and Harvest
The Mochi strain has a flowering period of approximately 60-70 days, with outdoor harvests typically occurring in late September to early October. Indoor growers will produce up to 600 grams of trichome-rich buds under proper care, while outdoor growers may see yields of up to 800 grams per plant, so long as environmental conditions remain stable.
Dominant Terpenes in Mochi
Mochi’s sweet and creamy taste and sharp, minty aroma are due, in part, to dominant terpenes caryophyllene, myrcene, and limonene. Caryophyllene is known in the cannabis kingdom as being spicy and peppery and can be found in cinnamon and black pepper naturally. Myrcene is one of the most abundant terpenes in the cannabis world. It offers a relaxing feeling as well as an earthy and herbal fragrance. Limonene is commonly found in the rinds of citrus fruits, and when found in cannabis plants, it gives off a fruity scent and flavor.
Dominant Cannabinoids in Mochi
Mochi’s THC content of 21-29% means that it is plenty strong and can also be handled by less-experienced pot users. The effects of this popular bud start off in the head and work their way down to the body, ultimately leading to a calm and chill relaxation that lasts all night. While the head high promotes mental clarity, it will eventually give way to a soothing vibe perfect for pre-bedtime enjoyment. Mochi is a solid choice for afternoon and evening use and will definitely help you disconnect from the day.

Six seeds ordered. Six seeds germinated. Six absolutely thriving plants currently midway through veg. I say it every time I order from this company but the seed vitality here is consistently exceptional. Mochi is looking incredible so far.
Fast shipping, healthy seeds, and a 100 percent germination rate. Mochi is off to a brilliant start and I cannot wait to see how the rest of this grow plays out.
I have been growing cannabis for over a decade and Mochi is one of the most rewarding strains I have added to my regular lineup in recent years. The genetics from this company are consistently top shelf, the customer support is genuinely knowledgeable, and the strain itself delivers a grow experience that is as satisfying as the final product. The mental clarity and physical relaxation of this balanced hybrid make it ideal for anyone who wants a genuine disconnect from the day without losing their creativity or sense of presence. A truly exceptional strain grown from truly exceptional seeds.
What drew me to Mochi was the reputation for mental clarity paired with a deeply soothing physical effect. As someone who uses cannabis primarily in the afternoons and evenings to decompress and access a more creative headspace, this strain fits my needs perfectly. The grow itself was also a great experience overall. Seeds popped on time, plants stayed compact and manageable indoors, and the harvest was generous and visually impressive. The quality of the genetics you get from this company is the real deal.
I was drawn to Mochi because of its lineage. Sunset Sherbet and Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies are both legendary and the genetics show at every stage of the grow. The seeds are vital and reliable, the plants are resilient with proper care, and the flowers at harvest are world class. The balanced euphoric and soothing effects of Gelato 47 are a perfect fit for creative afternoon sessions and relaxing evenings. This company and this strain have both earned my full trust and loyalty.
Second outdoor run of Mochi this year and the results were even better than the first. The plants grew tall and strong in the natural environment and the late September harvest delivered some of the most visually stunning buds I have grown outdoors. Dense, heavily trichomed, and bursting with color. Yield per plant was close to 780 grams this cycle. Really hard to ask for more than that.
I am not someone who writes reviews often but Mochi earned one. The germination was clean and fast. The plants were compact and manageable indoors. The trichome production during flower was exceptional. And the final harvest was the best I have pulled from my indoor setup in terms of both weight and quality. The euphoric and calming effects of this balanced hybrid are exactly what I look for in an evening strain. Five stars without hesitation.
First time growing Mochi and I came in with realistic expectations given that it is described as moderately difficult. Ended up being a very enjoyable grow once I had my environment set up properly. Veg was steady and the plants responded really well to low stress training and topping. The transition into flower was smooth and the purple and green coloring that developed on the buds over the following weeks was genuinely beautiful. Yield came in at around 500 grams indoors. The mental clarity and soothing physical effects of this strain are a perfect match for winding down in the evening. Already planning my next run.
I will be honest, I was a little intimidated by Mochi going in because I had read it was moderately difficult to grow. But with the right environment dialed in and the growing guide from this company to reference, the whole process felt very manageable. Every seed germinated cleanly, the plants stayed compact indoors, and the spade-shaped purple and green buds that developed in flower were some of the most beautiful I have ever grown. Harvest came in just over 550 grams indoors. The mental clarity and creative euphoria this strain delivers in the afternoon and evening make every bit of the effort worthwhile. Genuinely one of my favorite grows to date.
The ScrOG setup worked really well with Mochi. The branching pattern fills out a net efficiently and with regular pruning the canopy stayed healthy and even all the way through flower. Every bud site got great light coverage and the end result was a full and productive harvest. These seeds are absolutely worth the investment.
