Growing Tips for Alien Kush Seeds
Alien Kush seeds are easy to grow, even if you have limited experience growing your own cannabis. It requires warmth, sunlight, and fresh air to grow to completion. If you are going to take on this grow, you will need to replicate warm summers similar to a Mediterranean-type climate to provide it with the correct environment, indoors or outdoors. Indoor growers will need nutrient-rich soil, high-intensity lighting, and the perfect temperature range and relative humidity to produce favorable yields come harvest time. Outdoor growers with access to a greenhouse will have an easier time bringing this strain to harvest, as greenhouses provide a similar climate to that of an indoor grow and can be controlled throughout the duration of the grow cycle. If you don’t have access to a greenhouse, then you will need to plan out a window of clear skies and warm weather, typically during the late Spring and Summertime, depending on where you live, to bring this strain to fruition. Alien Kush grows medium to tall and will need the right amount of space to grow. Providing a consistent temperature range of 68-80 degrees Fahrenheit and ensuring relative humidity levels stay around 40-60% is critical for optimal growth. Outdoor cultivation requires warmth and humidity with lots of sunlight to produce bud-rich, resin-coated plants. Low-stress training (LST) is the ideal method of training for this strain because it adjusts the canopy, allowing sunlight and fresh air to reach every level of the plant, including the buds that are closest to the soil. Routine maintenance on the branches and canopy will help increase yields. During the vegetative stage, you should provide 18-20 hours of light each day. Changing the light cycle to a 12/12 cycle will induce the flowering stage and take you all the way to harvest.
Yields, Flowering Time, and Harvest
- Flowering Time: Growing indoors, you can expect the Alien Kush strain to harvest after a flowering period of 55-65 days.
- Yields: While Indoor yields are around 400 grams per square meter, outdoor grows typically produce up to 500 grams per plant. These yields are massive considering how easy this strain can be to grow. If you have a limited amount of experience growing and cultivating cannabis, you will be happily rewarded with these yields.
- Harvest: Outdoor grows should be ready to harvest around the middle to the end of October, depending on when you planted your seeds.
Alien Kush Terpenes: Fruity and Herbal
The Alien Kush terpene profile is directly responsible for how the plant smells and tastes, and the strong effects it has on its users. The most dominant terpene in this strain is pinene, while limonene and myrcene are the secondary terpenes.
- Pinene: Most Dominant – Pinene is found most commonly in pine needles, conifer trees, and in certain strains of cannabis.
- Limonene: Secondary Terpene – Found mostly in the rinds of citrus fruits, this terpene helps with anxiety and improves lung function.
- Myrcene: Mother of All Terpenes – Myrcene can be found in a number of cannabis strains and provides the herb with an earthy and woody flavor and aroma.

As a first-time grower I was nervous about ordering seeds online. I found Pacific Seed Bank through a friend’s recommendation and decided to give Alien Kush a shot. Called customer service before ordering and the rep was patient and thorough — they answered every question I had about light cycles and even suggested I try growing in raised bed soil amended with compost. Every seed germinated perfectly. The seedlings developed great internode development faster than expected. I had one plant that seemed slow and reached out to support — they followed up by email the next day. This is everything a beginner could ask for in a seed bank.

As a first-time grower I was nervous about ordering seeds online. I found Pacific Seed Bank through a Reddit grow thread and decided to give Alien Kush a shot. Called customer service before ordering and the rep was patient and thorough — they answered every question I had about the best medium for this strain and even suggested I try growing in rich loam. Every single one popped. The seedlings developed strong root zone development faster than expected. I had one plant that seemed slow and reached out to support — they sent a replacement pack right away. This is everything a beginner could ask for in a seed bank.
Growing Alien Kush outdoors in the Pacific Northwest has been an incredible experience. The seeds from Pacific Seed Bank germinated at a 8/10 rate using the direct soil method. I transplanted into Fox Farms Ocean Forest enriched with bone meal and kelp, and the plants were off to the races. By mid-veg they showed healthy dark green leaves and attracted comments from every gardener who visited. The flowers developed light green and dense buds and the trichome coverage was milky white and crystal clear by harvest. I ended up with about up to 500g/plant per plant — right in line with the outdoor yield listed on the product page. Pacific Seed Bank is my go-to from here on.
Best seeds I’ve ordered. Pacific Seed Bank delivers.
