Growing Tips for Barbara Bud

If you’re new to growing, with little experience under your gardening gloves and a rookie green thumb, then the Barbara Bud strain is a great choice for your first grow. The strain is easy to bring to harvest and produces delicious buds that provide a solid high even with the more traveled marijuana smokers. Barbara Bud, like most cannabis strains, will thrive indoors using either hydroponics or natural, nutrient-rich soil. You can grow this strain either indoors or outdoors and have equally successful grows in both environments. Indoors will be a slightly smoother grow because you are able to closely replicate and control the growing environment. Outside, this tasty hybrid requires a sunny and warm climate to achieve its maximum potential. Replicating a Mediterranean climate, which provides the best growing conditions for this specific strain of cannabis, is your best bet for high yields.

This strain is super popular and comes from a long line of favorable buds. The ideal temperature for these plants is around 65-80 degrees Fahrenheit. Humidity levels should be kept around 50-60% during the vegetative stage and maintained at 40-50% during the flowering stage of growth. Keeping the humidity levels below 60% will help keep mold and mildew off your plants.

Barbara Bud responds very well to the Screen of Green method as well as Low-stress training (LST). These methods will increase yields by promoting growth in all of the bud sites. The Screen of Green method is used to reinforce the branches that the buds grow on by utilizing a mesh or screen to prop the buds up. This technique keeps the buds from weighing down the branches. Both techniques will ultimately increase your yields come harvest time. Barbara Bud plants require an 18-20 hour light cycle to get them started and to get them through the vegetative stage. To induce the flowering stage of growth, you will need to change the light cycle to a 12/12 cycle. You can maintain this light cycle through to your harvest.

Yields, Flowering Time, and Harvest

  • Flowering Time: Growing indoors, you can expect the Barbara Bud strain to harvest after a short flowering period of 50-60 days.
  • Yields: While Indoor yields are around 300 grams per square meter, outdoor grows typically produce up to 350 grams per plant. Once you have clipped and dried your harvest, you will be left with plenty of dank buds. If you plan your grow correctly, you could potentially grow multiple plants and increase your grow by two or three times.
  • Harvest: Outdoor grows should be ready to harvest around the end of September and beginning of October, depending on when you planted your seeds.

Barbara Bud: Sweet and Fruity

The Barbara Bud terpene profile is directly responsible for how the plant smells and tastes, and the strong effects it has on its users. The most dominant terpene in this strain is caryophyllene, while bisabolol and limonene are the secondary terpenes.

  • Caryophyllene: Most Dominant – Known as the spicy or peppery terpene, you can find caryophyllene in black pepper, cinnamon, cloves, and cannabis.
  • Bisabolol: Secondary Terpene – Typically found in Indica-dominant strains of cannabis, it has a gentle, floral scent.
  • Limonene: Citrus Fruits – Limonene can be found in abundance in the rinds of citrus fruits and in cannabis plants. This terpene helps decrease anxiety and improve lung function.

Fast-growing and easy to take care of, Barbara gives the best buds you can smoke for a mellow high. Smooth-hitting sweet fruity flavors will ease you into a really gently high. This strain has absolutely no downside.

  9. Michael Duarte Verified Buyer

Despite being a relatively easy strain to grow, Barbara Bud Feminized Seeds proved to be not very resilient when faced with unfavorable conditions. However, the yields were still decent and the shipping and packaging from Pacific Seed Bank was top-notch. This strain has a sweet and pungent aroma that makes it one of the more unique varieties on the market. Though yields may have been slightly disappointing.

Beautiful buds coming from Barabra Bud! I loved working with this strain it was a joy in the garden. My favorite part was pruning the long sun branches and making it look amazing. I love curating beauty, even in my plants at home. I literally just grow at home, in my closet, under LED lights. Fresh buds for a reasonable price and definitely worth the extra time. It pays for itself, and is a good investment.
