Growing Tips for Candy Jack
If you haven’t ever grown cannabis before, then Candy Jack is a great starter strain to cut your teeth on. Candy Jack marijuana plants will thrive both indoors and outdoors, but have an easier time growing indoors because of the grower’s ability to manage the climate. If you choose to grow indoors, you will have to replicate a steady environment similar to the climate of the Mediterranean. Candy Jack seeds produce plants that are dark green and have long leaves that hang below the bud sites. The buds of these plants are covered in dusty resin trichomes, making them appear white to the naked eye. If you are going to grow outdoors, you will need to maintain a consistent temperature and humidity to grow these plants to harvest. Doing so will ensure that you grow potent and pungent buds from the top of the plants to the bottom. Having access to a greenhouse is the best way to give these plants the perfect outdoor climate they require without having to put up with unexpected outdoor variables. These plants grow medium and can reach around 4 feet in height. Because the plants reach a maximum height of 4 feet, they will fit in smaller grow areas like closets and balconies. The ideal temperature for these plants is around 70-85 degrees Fahrenheit and slightly cooler at night. Humidity levels should be kept around 40-60% during the vegetative growth stage and the flowering stage. Growing indoors will ensure that the moderate humidity levels and higher temperatures are constant and maintained every day that the plants are in the growing stages. Topping, Screen of Green (ScrOG), and Low-stress training (LST) are the best training methods for this specific strain. Each of these methods will help to increase your yields once you are ready to clip and dry them ahead of harvest. The Candy Jack strain requires an 18-20 hour light cycle to reach the vegetative stage of growth. Changing the light cycle to a 12/12 cycle will help to induce the flowering stage of growth and get you to harvest.
Yields, Flowering Time, and Harvest
- Flowering Time: Growing indoors, you can expect the Candy Jack strain to harvest after a short flowering period of 55-65 days.
- Yields: While Indoor yields are around 400 grams per square meter, outdoor grows typically produce up to 500 grams per plant. These yields are massive and come at the end of a relatively short flowering stage.
- Harvest: Outdoor growers can plan on harvesting their yields around the middle of October, depending on when the seeds were planted.
Candy Jack: Simple and Potent
The Candy Jack terpene profile is directly responsible for how the plant smells and tastes, and the strong effects it has on its users. The most dominant terpene in this strain is caryophyllene, while terpinolene and pinene are the secondary terpenes.
- Caryophyllene: Most Dominant – Known as the spicy and peppery terpene, you can find caryophyllene in cinnamon and cannabis.
- Terpinolene: Secondary Terpene – Commonly found in lilacs, sage, rosemary, apples, and cannabis, this terpene is known for having a woody and floral aroma.
- Pinene: Conifer Trees– Pinene is commonly found in pine needles and conifer trees and produces a pine-like scent and taste in cannabis plants.
