Growing Tips for Chronic
Genetically engineered to be easy to grow even for first-timers and novice cultivators. Chronic marijuana plants will thrive when grown indoors and outdoors, but have an easier time growing indoors because of the ability to manage the climate. If you choose to grow indoors, you will have to replicate a steady environment similar to the climate of the Mediterranean. Chronic cannabis seeds produce plants that are dark green with yellow pistils and uber-long buds. If you are going to grow outdoors, you will need to maintain a consistent temperature and humidity to grow these plants to harvest. Doing so will ensure that you grow healthy buds from the top of the plants to the buds closest to the soil. Having access to a greenhouse is the best way to give these plants the perfect outdoor climate they require without having to put up with unexpected outdoor variables. These plants grow medium height and can reach around 6 feet tall. Because the plants reach a maximum indoor and outdoor height of 6 feet, you are going to have to manage the size of these plants throughout the entire grow. The ideal temperature for these plants is around 70-85 degrees Fahrenheit and slightly cooler at night. Humidity levels should be kept around 30-70% during the vegetative growth stage and the flowering stage. Growing indoors will ensure that the moderate humidity levels and moderate temperatures are constant and maintained every day that the plants are in the growing stages. The Screen of Green (ScrOG) method and the Low-stress training and high-stress training (HST) techniques will benefit the growth of the Chronic plants. When performed correctly and at the right time during the grow, these techniques will increase your overall yields come harvest time. The Chronic strain requires an 18-20 hour light cycle to reach the vegetative stage of growth. Changing the light cycle to a 12/12 cycle will help to induce the flowering stage of growth.
Yields, Flowering Time, and Harvest
- Flowering Time: Growing indoors, you can expect the Chronic strain to harvest after a short flowering period of 55-65 days.
- Yields: While Indoor yields are around 550 grams per square meter, outdoor grows typically produce up to 700 grams per plant. Given that this strain is super popular, you are going to be very happy with the final yields, as they are massive.
- Harvest: Outdoor growers can plan on harvesting their yields around the middle of October, depending on when the seeds were planted.
Chronic: Classic ‘90s Strain
The Chronic cannabis strain terpene profile is directly responsible for how the plant smells and tastes, and the strong effects it has on its users. The most dominant terpene in this strain is caryophyllene, while myrcene and terpineol are the secondary terpenes.
- Caryophyllene: Most Dominant – Peppery and spicy, this terpene is present in cinnamon, black pepper, cloves, and marijuana.
- Myrcene: Secondary Terpene – Known as the “mother of all terpenes”, myrcene gives cannabis plants the earthy and pungent aroma they are known for.
- Terpineol: Minty Vibes – Terpineol can be found in over 150 different plant species, including cannabis, lilacs, and pine trees.

I used to smoke this weed when it first hit the streets in LA in the 90s and we was flying back then.
Life is much different now, but our weed legalization has made things much better.

Excellent indica weed with a harsh smoke and a deep chemical flavor….yes very bitter, but all about the right flavors and attitude! I like smoking it by myself or with friends. Always a good experience and fresh grow. Had some issues with germnination BUT Pacific replaced my bad seeds for free!
