Growing Tips for Blue Afghani
Blue Afghani is an easy strain to grow, even if it is your first time cultivating cannabis. The ease of this grow is one of the most attractive qualities of this strain. Blue Afghani marijuana plants will thrive both indoors and outdoors, but have an easier time growing indoors because of the grower’s ability to control the climate. If you choose to grow indoors, you will have to replicate a steady environment similar to the climate of the Mediterranean. Blue Afghani produces dense Indica buds that are rich in color and resinous trichomes. If you are going to grow outdoors, you will need to maintain a consistent temperature and humidity to get these plants to harvest. Having access to a greenhouse is the best way to give these plants the perfect outdoor climate they require without having to put up with unexpected outdoor variables. Because these plants grow shorter than most, they require limited space to grow and are perfect for closet grow setups as well as balcony grows. You can also grow multiple plants in a smaller area, which will increase your yields exponentially. The ideal temperature for these plants is around 65-80 degrees Fahrenheit. Humidity levels should be kept at 30-50% during the vegetative stage and slowly decreased into the flowering stage of growth. Growing indoors will ensure that the moderate humidity levels and temperature are maintained every day that the plants are in the growing stages. Topping, Low-stress training (LST), and the Screen of Green (ScrOG) methods are the best training techniques for the specific strain of cannabis. Each of these methods will keep the plant a healthy size while also increasing the overall yields once you are ready to clip and dry the buds. The Blue Afghani strain requires an 18-20 hour light cycle to reach the vegetative stage of growth. Changing the light cycle to a 12/12 cycle will help to induce the flowering stage and get your healthy plants to harvest without issue.
Yields, Flowering Time, and Harvest
- Flowering Time: Growing indoors, you can expect the Blue Afghani strain to harvest after a short flowering period of 55-65 days.
- Yields: While Indoor yields are around 350 grams per square meter, outdoor grows typically produce up to 450 grams per plant. You can overcome these medium-sized yields by growing multiple plants at one time. Because this strain is shorter than the average marijuana cultivar, it is easier to grow in limited space and can produce double or triple the yields in one grow.
- Harvest: Outdoor growers can plan on harvesting their yields around the middle of October, depending on when the seeds were planted.
Blue Afghani: Small but Succulent Plants
The Blue Afghani terpene profile is directly responsible for how the plant smells and tastes, and the strong effects it has on its users. The most dominant terpene in this strain is caryophyllene, while limonene and linalool are the secondary terpenes.
- Caryophyllene: Most Dominant – Known as a spicy and peppery terpene, caryophyllene is most commonly found in cinnamon, cloves, black pepper, and cannabis plants.
- Linalool: Secondary Terpene – Linalool is most commonly found in flowers like lavender and produces a floral flavor and aroma when found in cannabis plants.
- Limonene: Fresh Citrus – Found mostly in the rinds of citrus fruits, limonene is known for helping to decrease anxiety and can improve lung function when found in cannabis.

The anticipation of seeing these grow is exhilarating! The quality of the seeds is clear, and I’m so happy with my choice!
The buds from these seeds are simply beautiful. Dense, frosty, and vibrant, they make for a great display.
It’s great for relieving stress and enhancing creativity, making it a versatile addition to any cannabis collection.
What’s better than Blue Afghani feminized seeds? Not much in my books! As one of my favorite strains, of course, I want to be able to grow female plants to get more of those smokable buds that I adore. All my seeds turned into female plants, so I couldn’t be happier. 🙂
With its soothing properties and delightful aroma of blueberries and vanilla, this indica-dominant strain provides a serene and euphoric experience. Whether grown indoors or outdoors, the sturdy plants yield generous harvests of crystal-coated buds.
Yo friends,
New to weed, not my first grow but darn near it. I grow outside of Vancouver, BC. Seeds ship directly to Canada, looking pretty dang solid.
This strain prefers HOT hot climates (I think it originated in the Middle East), wouldn’t recommend without a greenhouse or otherwise temp-controlled indoor space.
Buying online has been a life-changing experience for me. Not only do I save a TON of time sourcing seeds, I save a lotta cash.
Blue Afghani is a must-try strain for anyone looking for a relaxing and uplifting high. The customer service at Pacific is exceptional and the shipping is fast and convenient. All of my seeds sprouted and germinated with ease and the information on Pacific’s blog was helpful for my grow. Highly recommend this strain and Pacific Seed Bank.
Didn’t know much about this strain before growing. Just kind of went into it blind. The results were pretty alright though. I am glad I grew indoors. I felt like I had so much more control than when I have grown outdoors in the past. Pretty exemplary looking nug….like much better than what I am used to seeing in the dispensary….and gram for gram SO much cheaper. Growing at home is a real $ saver, so don’t pass up this great opportunity!
Beautiful nugs with all kinds of flavorrrr! Blue afghani is a rare find…it’s an easy grow in hot and dry conditions….Southern OR has been the perfect place! I was able to cultivate over 500 G, all of it fresh and ready to smoke, with some beautiful blue-green color like sea kelp.
This is a before-bed strain for me, cause once I smoke it….I am straight off to sleep 🙂
A smooth and subtle strain that doesn’t feel like being hit with a ton of bricks. Instead, this weed is your friend. I find it’s bright blue nugs to be soft and soothing, and the buzz never makes me feel groggy or tired. I found it to be a challenging but fulfilling grow. I really am over my head when it comes to weed cultivation but I do it anyway.
